Travel and navigation

IDS BK provides Bratislava-region journey planning and tickets. Choose zones for the route and ensure the ticket is valid before boarding. CP.sk helps compare intercity trains and buses, but a search result does not mean every ticket is sold there: follow the operator’s link. For ZSSK trains, use the app or website linked from zssk.sk.

Google Maps or Mapy.com help with routes; download offline maps before travelling. Check disruptions with DPB and IDS BK. For PAAS, choose an app listed at paas.sk/platba, enter the correct plate and parking section, and wait for confirmation. Use eznamka.sk or its linked official app for motorway vignettes; eTOLLs is not thereby the official Slovak vignette shop.

Parcels and daily shopping

Packeta supports parcel tracking and collection; Slovenská pošta provides postal services and tracking. Z-BOX collection can use the app or a code keypad where fitted, so an app is not mandatory for every collection. Check storage deadlines, cash-on-delivery payment and the exact box. Open the service yourself rather than entering card details through an unexpected text-message link.

Lidl Plus and Tesco Clubcard provide their chains’ offers. Check the account country, activate coupons and compare unit prices. Zľavomat helps find services and leisure deals, but vouchers have expiry dates, day restrictions and booking conditions. Having the app does not make every offer cheaper than booking directly.

Banking, insurance and electronic documents

Install your bank’s and health insurer’s apps through their official websites. They normally require a customer account and activation; downloading alone does not open an account or create insurance cover. Keep support contacts and an access-recovery method. Read the amount, recipient and purpose before approving a transaction.

Slovensko v mobile / mobile eID provides access to supported government services. Activation depends on your document and available electronic identity; follow current slovensko.sk instructions. Signing in is not the same as applying a qualified electronic signature (KEP): some applications require separate signing and valid certificates. A phone is not a universal substitute for an eID and reader.

Language, weather and safe installation

Camera translation helps with notices and menus, but check contracts, diagnoses and official decisions carefully: automatic translation can lose a negation or deadline. Use SHMÚ for forecasts and alerts, and HZS for mountain conditions. Afisha’s RU/UA/EN selector in the header remembers your choice for future visits.

Start with a small set: travel, maps, banking, insurance, parcels and translation. Check publishers and permissions; do not install APK files from promotional messages. Enable screen locking, updates and recovery options. A discount app should not receive your banking credentials or verification codes.
