Choosing an outing
For dry weather, consider Devín, the castle grounds or Radosť by Štrkovec lake; for rain, a museum or indoor play space. Check age suitability, journey time and last admission before comparing prices. Ticket offices, pavilions and grounds may close at different times. Confirmed prices below were checked on 16 October 2026; consult linked pages for seasonal and special tickets.
1. Devín Castle: a fortress above two rivers
Address: Muránska 10, Bratislava-Devín. Plan the ruins above the Danube–Morava confluence as an outing rather than a quick shopping stop. October hours are Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–17:00, last admission 45 minutes before closing; ordinary Mondays are closed. Select the correct season on the city museum website.
Published standard adult admission is €8 in summer and €6 in winter, with concession prices of €4 and €3; check family-ticket and concession conditions before paying. Slopes, stairs and uneven surfaces limit pushchair access: the upper castle is not step-free. Bring water, grippy shoes and wind protection.
2. UFO: views from SNP bridge
The observation deck over SNP bridge normally opens 10:00–23:00; restaurant hours differ. Standard adult admission is €11.50 on weekdays 10:00–13:00 and €12.50 afterwards and at weekends. For children over 111 cm up to age 15, prices are €7.90 on weekday mornings and €9.30 at the other stated times; children below 111 cm enter free. Ask the ticket office about height and age boundaries.
These are ordinary rates, not universal date-independent prices: the site lists a separate holiday period and Day & Night ticket. Check visibility before a sunset visit; admission cannot guarantee a panorama in fog. Ask about the full route to the outdoor deck if step-free or pushchair access is essential.
3. Bratislava Zoo: use the seasonal timetable
Address: Mlynská dolina 1A. Allow time for hills, rests and pavilions. Admission and pavilion hours vary seasonally; use the zoo’s official timetable. The former €10/€7 prices and €27 family ticket are no longer presented here as current. The full tariff page was unavailable during this review: confirm your price and age category through official ticket sales or the ticket office.
Do not include the former DinoPark as an operating part of the zoo. The zoo’s 13 July 2026 announcement targets summer holidays 2027 for a new educational entertainment park; this is a plan, not a current opening. Check service fees and validity when buying online.
4. Bratislava Castle: grounds and museum are separate
The grounds can be visited without a museum ticket, but individual courtyards and gardens have their own access rules. SNM interiors and exhibitions require admission. Normal museum hours are Wednesday–Monday 10:00–18:00, last admission 17:00; closed Tuesday. Grounds opening times are not museum opening times.
Standard SNM Historical Museum admission is €14 for adults and €7 for schoolchildren aged 6+ or students with accepted identification; under-6s have free entry. Special exhibitions such as Marie Antoinette have separate and combined tariffs: the basic ticket does not automatically cover everything. Choose one exhibition and an approach route in advance with children.
5. Time Out at Aupark
Time Out’s directory still lists Aupark at Einsteinova 18, with 09:00–21:00 and +421 911 965 004. That page has no clear update date: confirm that this particular branch is operating, its hours, price and child drop-off arrangements before travelling. Do not apply mall opening hours to the play area. Younger children’s admission and supervision depend on policy and occupancy.
Do not rely on the former €5.50–€14.30 hourly scale. Confirm charging intervals, maximum stay, child handover and parent-contact requirements. Staff presence does not imply identical supervision arrangements for every age.
An alternative with a current shopping-centre page is Time Out at CENTRAL. CENTRAL lists independent admission from age three, with an adult required for younger children. Check that branch’s page and tariff; Aupark terms do not automatically apply to CENTRAL.
6. Areál hier Radosť Štrkovec
Between Bajkalská and Štrkovec lake in Ružinov, this is an outdoor walking and play option. Ordinary playground access is free; individual sports services and events may have separate conditions. Check current hours and rules with Ružinovský športový klub: winter hours differ and individual areas may close for maintenance.
7. KidsHouse at Jump Fun Pri letisku
The address remains Ivanská cesta 30/D, with current information on Jump Fun’s website. Pri letisku hours are weekdays 14:00–20:00 and holidays, weekends and school breaks 09:00–20:00. KidsHouse and Jump Arena have different admissions; neither should be confused with the separate Jump Fun Nivy location.
Published KidsHouse admission is €6 per child and €2 per adult for each started hour. Jump Arena has separate prices, grip-sock requirements and supervision rules for under-7s. Choose the correct zone and check age and safety rules before booking; do not rely on the old €4/€1 prices or €199 pass.
