The old news about Bottova 7 closing no longer serves as an arrival guide. The Interior Ministry states that, following the closure, foreign police departments have processed temporary protection applications since 6 August 2024. LOOM now offers advice on life in the city. Distinguish help with preparing paperwork from the government procedure itself.
LOOM: social, legal and family questions
The city’s LOOM centre is at Česká 267/2, Bratislava. Its official city page lists opening hours of Monday–Friday, 9:00–16:00, with closure on weekends and public holidays. The information line is +421 903 497 189, also available through Viber, Telegram and WhatsApp. Advice sessions require an appointment through the centre’s contacts or in person.
Services include social, psychological, legal and employment advice and community activities. When booking, briefly describe your question, your child’s age and your preferred language. Prepare residence-status documents and any letters you need help understanding, then confirm the exact requirements with the adviser. LOOM helps you navigate services; ÚPSVaR decides benefit claims and schools decide admission.
Temporary protection and the new police address
Use the Interior Ministry’s registration guidance and foreign police booking system for temporary protection. Select the correct service: first registration, issuing a document and changing residence status may require different appointment categories. Check the address, date, time and requirements in your booking confirmation. A LOOM consultation does not replace applying to the police.
Since 18 May 2026, Bratislava’s foreign police client office has operated at Račianska 62. Before travelling, check the latest ministry notice and your booking confirmation because opening hours and service arrangements can change.
Schooling and benefit questions
For school questions, start with the headteacher and your city district’s education department. If no place is found for a Ukrainian child with temporary protection, the regional school administration office, RÚŠS, becomes involved. Benefit applications go to the relevant ÚPSVaR office. Prepare a one-page summary of family status, address, child’s age, application dates and replies to make advice useful. Keep original decisions and submission receipts separately.
